Rustica Bakery Fundraiser
Saturday mornings 10am-2pm
The fundraiser has been a significant success. Rustica just e-transferred a $1230.00 donation to Cycle 16 (April donation). A big shout out to Meg Roberts & her gang of merry bakers and also to all of you who have braved wind, rain and occasional sunshine to ride & walk out to purchase delicious baking and to have a visit with fellow cyclists & croissant addicts.
Each Saturday to date there have been between 60-80 customers and even on the nastiest of days, this number has remained constant.
Just goes to show how hardy people in the Bulkley Valley are.
We are planning an information session at Rustica on Saturday, June 27th. There will be coffee by donation, compliments of Alfie King of Reel Coffee in Telkwa.
Because of Covid, we ask that you bring your own mug as we will have none on site. We will also be selling our newly designed Cycle 16 T-shirts. They are very snazzy.
We do ask that if you drive to please be aware of fast moving vehicles on Babine Lake road. Park as far off the road as possible and to please leave your flashers on.
Exciting News
The Board of the Regional District of Bulkley Nechako (RDBN) has agreed to consider ownership of the path connecting Telkwa & Smithers and we are presently working on wording for a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Jason Llewellyn, the Director of Planning for RDBN, to take to the Board for their consideration.
More Exciting News
We have recently retained the services of the Smithers office of WSP Canada Group Ltd to be Project Managers for this exciting trail building venture.
WSP is one of the world’s leading professional services firms providing technical expertise and strategic advice to clients with Transportation & Infrastructure projects.
The Board of Cycle 16 is excited to have entered this agreement with WSP and believe their experience & knowledge will move this project forward in an efficient & timely manner.
We could use some help
Many of you have expressed an interest in offering help to move this project forward and we could really use someone with communications and writing skills to assist us in telling our story.
Your commitment would be one 2 hour meeting / month plus the time it takes to put all the pieces together, Twitter, Instagram, web page Facebook etc.
I am quite happy to provide content but seem to lack the necessary skills (as in getting old) to format our message so it meets the expectations of branding & continuity.
If you would like to get more information about this opportunity, please call Tony at 250 643-4054
To become a member please go to www.cycle16.ca and follow the links. Our membership is now in excess of 800 and our goal is 1000. The more members we have, the clearer our voice is.
Best to you all.
Tony
